ECCSEL European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) is a distributed, integrated research infrastructure encompassing 80 interlinked transnational scientific research facilities and five national nodes across Europe. ECCSEL aims to enhance European science, technology development, innovation and education in the field of CCUS.
ECCSEL's vision is to enable low to zero CO2 emissions from industry and power generation to combat climate change. ECCSEL coordinates the European development of facilities and their services to meet identified needs. The research infrastructure also reaches out to relevant industry and research communities to determine their research infrastructure needs to enable full-scale deployment of CCUS in Europe.

Director Biography

Sverre Quale
Director ECCSEL ERIC since established in 2017
Project Director for ECCSEL preparatory phase from 2012. Before that several senior positions in both the petroleum industry and the transport sector, including Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality department in Saga Petroleum (1990 – 1999), Director of the National Accident Investigation Board (2003 – 2006) and CEO of AVINOR, Norwegian Airports an Air Traffic Control (2006 – 2010).
MSc Mechanical Engineering from NTNU.
