SINTEF-ER - SINTEF Energi
SINTEF Energy Research (a legal entity affiliated to SINTEF) is a contract research institute focusing on power production and conversion and have built up a sizeable group of people working within CCS technologies.
In total SINTEF ER employs about 200 people. The Combustion Research Group at SINTEF ER and NTNU has about 30 years of experience in numerical simulation of combustion processes and experimental capabilities (advanced laser diagnostics for combustion measurements). Experience has been built on hydrogen and oxyfuel combustion in CO2 capture processes (Norwegian research program BIGCO2, and EU projects like ENCAP and DYNAMIS). SINTEF ER has more than 50 years experience within refrigeration, including modelling and simulation capabilities for both refrigeration components and systems.
SINTEF ER is the coordinator for two European projects in FP6 (DYNAMIS, NextGenBioWaste), and the project manager of ENCAP, focusing on pre-combustion decarbonisation technologies in power cycles.
Coordinator for two projects in FP7 (DECARBit and ECCO) and also co-ordinating the Norwegian national R&D projects BIGCO2 and BIGCCS, two of Europe’s largest R&D projects on CO2 capture and underground storage.
